Description (Ventricular Tachycardia)

In this course we will discuss the complex tachyarrhythmias, while highlighting the ventricular tachycrdias. How to approach wide complex tachycardia on the ECG, the clues to a specific diagnsois, managment approach and treatment will all be discussed.

What you'll learn

  • Understand the electrophysiological mechanisms underlying ventricular tachycardia.

  • Systematically analyze wide-complex tachycardias using a step-by-step ECG approach.

  • Differentiate ventricular tachycardia from supraventricular tachycardia with aberrancy.

  • Recognize key ECG patterns and clinical clues that support the diagnosis of VT.

  • Apply validated ECG algorithms to reach the correct diagnosis confidently.

  • Correlate resting ECG findings with underlying structural or electrical disease.

  • Understand acute management strategies for ventricular tachycardia.

  • Select appropriate antiarrhythmic medications based on VT type and clinical context.

  • Identify indications for implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantation.

  • Understand the role of radiofrequency ablation in VT management.

  • Integrate ECG interpretation with clinical decision-making in emergency and inpatient settings.
